ROPE ACCESS ANCHORS

Rope Access allows workers to reach difficult areas on your building facade for maintenance and cleaning purposes. High rise window cleaning, caulking and general maintenance require an anchor system suitable for a minimum of 2 workers on redundant anchors.

Planning for rope access anchors requires a specialist Level 3 Rope Access Technician to ensure the system enables both access to the work areas required, and timely rescue in the event of an emergency.

With a variety of anchor types and options, it is important to have end-user experience when planning a cost-effective and efficient anchor system. We install SAYFA anchors which are designed and manufactured in accordance with requirements of Standards AS/NZS 4488.2:1997, AS/NZS 5532:2013, AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 and relevant statutory OHS Codes of Practice/Guidelines.

Anchoring Options

The number and position of your rope access anchors will depend on what classification your site will have (complex or simple), and the structure of your roof.

Rope Access Technicians can use existing structure, diversions and deviations, and floating anchors to reach wide areas using limited anchors. The balance between reducing set-up times and site complexity, and the installation & maintenance costs of a comprehensive rope access anchor system requires experience to navigate. Talk to us about your access requirements, and we will offer a site specific solution for your needs and budget.

Anchor design loads.
AS/NZS 4488.2 requires the minimum design load of 12 kN ultimate strength for any primary anchor. However as AS/NZS 1891.4 (fall protection) uses anchors of 15 kN ult. Where possible, we strongly suggest all anchors installed be designed for 15kN ult to ensure suitability for use in both conditions. Any anchor designed for 12 kN ult only, MUST be marked to ensure that users are warned of its limitations.
